DANCE COMPETITIONS

For those of you who don't know. . .the world of dance in multi-faceted. . .there are professional dance companies, industrial entertainers, broadway, pole-dancing (that's my favorite when I tell someone what i do. . .they automatically assume i'm stripping for a living), MTV videos, dance education, dance studios, and yes. . .DANCE COMPETITION!!! Now that I have worked for a major dance comp. for three years, I'm starting to understand this crazy facet of the dance world. My students in California compete from January to July each year and they are amazing. I finally had the opportunity to be with them at one of their three national finals this summer in Las Vegas! I wanted to share some pics with you of them b/c they are a huge part of my life and most of you have yet to meet these amazing talented youngsters. They train from 12-20 hours a week and continue to challenge and amaze me. Teaching is my true passion, it is my career focus, and it drives me to be a better person and teacher/mentor each and every day. I am blessed that these are MY KIDS! Here are some pics from our exhausting week of 16 hour days at the Flamingo in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago.
